6. How to Prepare for MRCP PACES 2026 Examination Effectively

Regular practice and revision are the most effective ways of preparing for the MRCP UK examination.  The following are a few helpful MRCP PACES preparation pointers:

Examine patients on a daily basis in the ward for typical signs such as murmurs, pulmonary Fibrosis, Stroke, and enlarged organs.

Practice out loud using proper language to explain your findings to the examiner. Practice time management skills to complete the 6-minute physical examination within the time limit and leave 4 minutes for the examiner’s questions. Learn to handle communication skills, e.g., breaking bad news and handling ethical concerns, and organ donation. Develop practical skills by observing senior doctors and practising on real patients.

7. First Priority should be Patient Safety Above All:

Making small errors in clinical terms or neurological concepts can be fixed, but slipping in patient safety can be problematic. Be aware while suggesting medicine to them; ask if the patient is allergic to any particular thing. This way you'll instantly stand out in the examiner's mind for behaving professionally.  Among the most important tips for PACES is to always prioritise patient safety in every clinical interaction. Safety always comes first for both the doctor and the patient. Before you check the patient or declare the discharge plan, mark the exact pointers that are relevant for your action.
